『顔が見える食品。(Food with a face.)" is a private food brand developed by Ito-Yokado since 2002 as part of its efforts to ensure food safety and security. It is the first food brand in Japan to use a traceability system for quality control and to make that information widely available to the public.
The system consolidates and manages information such as cultivation status and the results of individual safety inspections, and publishes this information online. Customers can directly check who, where, and how each product on display in the store was made. Furthermore, by using packaging that features the face of each producer, we are promoting our products in a way that makes them more familiar to customers.
"Food with a Face" is a comprehensive food brand that pioneers a new form of quality control by utilizing traceability, a quality control method, not just as an internal system, but in a form that is visible to everyone and is used as a means of communication.
